I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA. A public-school student all the way through grade school, I majored in math as an undergraduate so that I could get a job and then decided to add a philosophy major for fun. These days, the latter is what drives my writing, both fiction and non-. I try to tell all of my stories philosophically, which is to say that I try to tell stories that can educate readers about life and the world by leading them through layers of meaning and showing them connections they may not have considered.
